Beyond Borders: Finding Purpose in Japan
My journey to creating House of Koyomi wasn't a straight path—it was a winding road that led me through multiple continents, countless cities, and finally, to the place that captured my heart: Japan.
After spending over 6 years in the e-commerce industry, working behind the scenes for global brands while living as a digital nomad, I found myself repeatedly drawn back to Japan. What started as professional visits soon became personal pilgrimages to a country that offered something I couldn't find anywhere else: a harmonious blend of ultra-modern innovation and deeply rooted traditions.

When Tokyo Changed Everything
I still remember standing in the middle of Shibuya Crossing (one of the busiest intersections in the world) and feeling an inexplicable sense of peace. How could a city of 37 million people feel so orderly, so mindful, so... serene?
That question became my obsession. Through dozens of trips across Japan, from the neon-lit streets of Tokyo to the ancient temples of Kyoto, from the southern tea fields of Kagoshima to the artisan workshops of Kanazawa, I began to understand the subtle philosophy that makes Japanese living so special.

Capturing Japan's Spirit
During my travels, I noticed something else: everywhere I went, people were curious about Japan. Friends, family, and even strangers would pepper me with questions when they learned about my frequent trips. "What's it really like?" "How can I experience that?" "Can you bring something back?"
That's when I realized my calling wasn't just to experience Japan for myself, it was to create a bridge between this extraordinary culture and those who hadn't yet experienced it.
I left my corporate career behind and poured my savings, expertise, and passion into creating House of Koyomi, named after the traditional Japanese calendar that honors the changing of seasons and the mindful passage of time.

Beyond Products
House of Koyomi isn't just a collection of products. It's years of exploration distilled into carefully curated experiences:
- Our art prints come from years of collecting inspiration from both traditional and contemporary Japanese artists, creating a visual language that brings the essence of Japan into any space.
Every product we offer has been personally vetted, tested, and loved by us first. We don't sell anything we wouldn't proudly display in our own home or use in our daily rituals.
